Colonel Graham of Claverhouse, later known as the Viscount of Dundee, stands as one of the most contentious figures in Scottish history. Revered by some as a gallant hero and loathed by others as a ruthless oppressor, Claverhouse’s legacy is steeped in both admiration and revulsion. To the Highlanders, he was a loyal servant of the crown, a man of honor and courage. To the Lowland Covenanters, he was "Bloody Claverse," a symbol of tyranny whose name became synonymous with fear and persecution.
